Open Debate: the impact of AI in art

​🇬🇧 🇰🇷 AI technology is often celebrated in the media for opening many doors for businesses and artists alike. However, the challenges AI has brought to the art industry receive far less attention.

​From a non-AI artist's perspective, some have lost jobs, witnessed their artwork being reused without permission, and faced increased competition on social media due to the rise of "new AI artists" in an already competitive field.
From an audience's perspective, it is becoming harder to determine who created a piece of art: a human or AI? Who deserves the recognition? Is the emotional connection the same when we know that not every single detail was chosen by the artist, but rather by AI?

​This open debate will explore these issues—topics that are rarely discussed but that we think are necessary.

​Artist Jakub works exclusively without AI, while artist Jerzy incorporates it in limited ways. They will be able to offer different opinions on the subject. Curator Cynthia M. will share insights from an industry perspective.
