About Our Speakers:

Ayomi Samaraweera: Founder of Canopy - After 8 years as a management consultant working across Europe, the Middle East, and US, Ayomi pivoted into Tech and joined TikTok during the pandemic, which was her entryway into the Creator Economy. After spending 2 years at TikTok as the Global Head of Internal Communications and a brief stint at Jellysmack as Chief of Staff to the President, Ayomi took the plunge and went all in on building her own Creator Economy startup to help Creators succeed.

She's now a startup founder by day, building Canopy, an anonymous-but-verified platform for creators to crowdsource information to accelerate their careers, and a TikTok Creator by night. She secured her first investor via TikTok, is part of Harlem Capital's Founder Launchpad program, and has been featured in Business Insider 5x both as a Founder and Creator.

Syama Bunten: CEO of Scaling Retail - Syama Bunten, is the CEO of Scaling Retail and the host of Getting Rich Together, an expander podcast for women on wealth and values. She's won a number of awards including 2023 Positive Leadership Award by the Leadership Institute, 2022 Thought Leader of the Year for Evangelizing Female Entrepreneurs and 2017 WWD Top Women in Business. Syama works with first time founders as a Co-CEO to launch scalable businesses across fashion, beauty, and technology.

Marilynn Joyner: Founder & CEO at Her Workplace - Marilynn Joyner is the Founder and CEO of Her Workplace, a career network for the next generation of women and non-binary leaders providing in-person and virtual spaces for members to build relationships, share stories, and exchange knowledge. Her Workplace launched in September 2023 by opening their first community space in NYC, launching their digital networking platform, and opening up their subscription membership offerings.

Before starting Her Workplace, Marilynn spent over 10 years in commercial real estate brokerage working for top firms JLL and CBRE. She’s represented an array of organizations on their office occupancy strategies including Fortune 500 companies, start-ups, and coworking operators such as Convene. The challenges she faced as a woman in a male-dominated industry combined with her expertise in commercial real estate led her to build in the community and proptech space.

Marilynn has an MBA from both Columbia Business School and London Business School, and a Masters in Real Estate from Georgetown University.

Meghana Dhar: Advisor, Speaker, and Investor - Meghana advises, speaks, and invests at the center of tech, social, and eCommerce.

Born and raised in the Bay Area, Meghana grew up immersed in tech and entrepreneurial culture. She brings her professional and personal experience to the table as she thinks, writes, and speaks about what’s next for the space.

Meghana is deeply passionate about supporting the underdog, and through her work, enables founders, creators, and female / POC leaders in the space

She has spent her career working for the big players: special projects for the CEO of eBay; Head of Partnerships for Instagram Shopping; and Head of Global Partnerships for Snapchat.

She now democratizes that access and institutional knowledge in her work as a Strategic Advisor to investors, startups, and leadership teams.

Meghana graduated from Harvard Business School, was named to the Forbes 30 under 30 list, and currently serves as an advisor to the Stanford Graduate School of Business' entrepreneurship program.

Christelle Rohaut: Co-Founder & CEO of Codi - Christelle founded Codi during her Master’s in City Planning at UC Berkeley in 2018. She was also a fellow at the Ellen MacArthur foundation, specializing in the circular economy. Christelle applies her skills as a city planner and entrepreneur to provide an economically and socially beneficial work-from-home alternative. It earned her to be selected by the City of Berkeley as one of the top 3 innovators at the Visionary Lab in 2018, and to win the first prize at “Big Ideas”, a social innovation contest across the University of California system that same year. Her mission goes far beyond just providing space -- Codi is a way to revitalize residential neighborhoods by developing strong circular economies.

Christelle assembled a first-class team from leading tech companies, and raised funding from several well-known VCs. Amidst a global pandemic, Codi has continued to serve thousands of remote workers, have half a thousand hosts nationwide, and now directly works with companies to support their shift to remote work.

Christelle’s work with Codi has been recognized by Fast Company in “World Changing Idea 2019”, Forbes, the San Francisco Business Times, and the State of Remote 2020 by Buffer and AngelList. She was recently invited as a speaker in the GENTRY Women in Tech Conference 2020. Christelle also holds a Master of Science in Environmental Science from Ecole polytechnique, France, and briefly served in the French military. She remains engaged with the scientific and city planning community, as a member of SPUR, the San Francisco Bay Area Planning and Urban Research Association.
