Sophie Sparkes - Pens, Paper, Data!
Sophie has been using data to tell visual stories, start conversations and help people engage with their data for over 10 years, specialising in data storytelling methods that make data more human and relatable. She will run a fun hands-on session ditching the digital and showing you how you can use pen and paper to get creative vizzing.
Prasanta Kumar Dutta - The Eyes Have It: Perception-Driven Data Visualisation
Prasanta is an Information Experience Designer from India, working at the intersection of design, coding and journalism at Reuters, recognised with numerous awards. He will delve into the science of charts and the psychological principles from the 1920s that continue to shape modern graphic design and visual communication. Join us to elevate your data craft by understanding the deep connection between human perception and effective visual design.
We will move onto a pub afterwards. There will be plenty of time to chat too. We want you to come away enabled to bring more creativity next time you are working with data!
