About Event

Inclusion as Resistance: Systems, Stories, and Solidarity

When inclusion efforts meet institutional barriers, policy roadblocks, and organizational resistance, how do we move from individual acts of welcome to collective transformation? How do we embed resistance within the very systems that seek to exclude?

Join us for a 60-minute conversational co-working session exploring inclusion as systemic resistance. This is a space for peer learning and collective thinking. Together, we'll share experiences, pool resources, and think strategically about how change happens at institutional and organizational levels.

This session builds on a part one of this conversation that started earlier in May.

What to Expect

  • Conversational sharing about systems we're working with (or against) and strategies we're trying

  • Smaller group peer problem-solving around specific challenges in embedding inclusion within resistant systems

  • Collaborative resource pooling: bringing tools, templates, and approaches that have worked (or haven't!)

About the Inclusive Design Jam & Hosts

We're the Inclusive Design Jam, a community of practice that champions equity in the design of the world. We create a safe space for connection, empowerment, and development around designing for inclusion, equity and justice. Join us on Slack.

This session is proudly hosted by Deepansha Singh, an Inclusive Design Jam community member, an experience researcher and design strategist. She'll be supported by Sandra Camacho (She/Her), the Inclusive Design Jam community lead and an independent design strategist and educator specializing in equity and social justice.

Accessibility & Inclusion Considerations

  • You can choose to lean in and actively participate or step back and follow along quietly.

  • You can join via desktop or mobile — we'll adapt our facilitation style and tools based on the needs of those present.

  • We will provide closed captions, live transcripts and visual descriptions to the best of our ability.

Please send us any other accommodation requests upon signing up and we'll do our best to honor them!

📚 If you can't make it, we'll send out a recording (if all attendees consent to this) afterwards to all those who register as well as our community members.

Event Image Description: A vibrant tree with a brown trunk and branches, where the canopy is formed entirely of colorful handprints in various sizes, colors, and patterns. The hands create a full, lush crown of the tree in shades of green, blue, red, orange, yellow, and purple. Some handprints contain geometric patterns and symbols, representing the diversity of experiences and approaches people bring to systemic change work. The tree stands against a light cream background, symbolizing how individual contributions grow into collective power and systemic transformation.
