Following last week's Startup Series episode, join an MCJ AMA with Joe Zhou is the CEO of Quidnet Energy.

Quidnet is developing a breakthrough, long-duration energy storage technology: Geomechanical Pumped Storage (GPS). GPS combines the reliability and ubiquity of oil and gas drilling with the engineering and scientific robustness of pumped-storage hydropower (PSH). First proven in 2016, GPS is being deployed in several geologic basins today. With highly-favorable geologies throughout the United States and around the world, GPS allows PSH to be widely deployed at a fraction of the cost. Quidnet is partnered with Breakthrough Energy Ventures, ARPA-E, NYSERDA, and others. Prior to Quidnet Energy, Joe worked at Green Charge Networks, a California-based energy storage project developer that was acquired by Engie in 2016. Joe started his career at McKinsey as a heavy-industry capital projects advisor and in process engineering and hydraulics at ExxonMobil. Joe holds a B.Sc. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Alberta and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
