About Event

I was delivering my presentation, which I was very proud of. I even added a relevant story to enliven my data. In the middle of my captivating story, I heard a strange animal-like sound...

Where does that grunting sound come from? Oh gosh, someone has let a dog in!

Confused, I looked at my audience and saw a sleeping guy in the first row. He was snoring.

My first thought was, ”Oh no! You can't do that while I'm standing here!”

And after the presentation, I thought, “Well, maybe my story was not that good...

Or was it too long?”

How long should a good story be?

It depends. If you’re delivering a presentation and the story is a core part of it, like the stories used in TED talks, then it should be around 5-7 minutes.

If it’s a quick story you want to mention in a conversation with your friends and colleagues, it’s more likely to be closer to 2-3 mins, as not many people are willing to hear out all the details.

Since the occasions vary, being able to tell the same story in its short and long version becomes a must have skill. Especially if you could do it on the spot.

This is what you will be practising in the upcoming Storytellers’ Gym session.

Three Reasons to Attend this Session

1. You will learn to shorten any story to keep it concise, yet still interesting.

2. You will learn how to use the concept of “Story Spine” to make your daily conversations more engaging.

3. You will learn how to come up with great stories on the spot.

💭 Our students said:

"When I started, I was a very bad storyteller. People would often not listen to my stories till the end, interrupt me or get distracted. Then I participated in Skillsme Academy's Storytellers' gym and the course and they became the game changer for me. There was a minimum of useless talking and a maximum of learning and practice. But what I enjoyed the most is that now I fell in love with telling stories because my delivery has changed so much that people want to listen to me more and more! Thank you so much Skillsme Academy!" Anastasia B.
