Healing the Mountain, Healing the Self: An Earth Day Fundraiser
Celebrate Earth Day by immersing yourself in the beauty of Mount Sutro to support Sutro Stewards’ transformative Health in Nature program!
📆 Saturday, April 26th
⏰ 10 AM – 1:15 PM
📍Aldea Center on Mt. Sutro
“Healing the Mountain, Healing the Self” brings together community, creativity, and conservation in a day filled with enriching activities, including:
Conservation in Action: Gather seeds native and contribute to habitat restoration efforts.
Creative Expression: Craft stunning wildflower bouquets, screenprint with native leaves (bring a t-shirt!), and experiment with cyanotyping using ferns.
Mindful Moments: Sip mountain-inspired teas, journal in a serene setting, and explore nature’s rhythm.
Guided Walks: Discover local bird species on a birding walk or delve into the mountain’s unique chert geology.
100% of proceeds from this fundraiser will directly benefit the Health in Nature Program, a Sutro Stewards initiative that increases access to the outdoors for underserved communities in San Francisco, including youth, caregivers, and individuals with mental health divergence. Through partnerships with UCSF and other local organizations including Friends of the Children, Independence High School, Edgewood Kinship Caregivers, and UCSF GROWTH, this program creates opportunities for healing, joy, and connection through nature-based experiences.
