Confidence in Competence
Self-efficacy refers to one’s belief in their capacity to engage in behaviors necessary to produce specific performance outcomes. It’s the confidence in one’s ability to influence events and control over one’s environment. Not 'natural' - rather, skills to learn and hone.
Self-efficacy routinely shows up in research as a foundational component of motivation and well-being at work.
