​Come Experience the Light of Orthodox Easter 2024!

​All Christians are invited to partake in the beautiful traditions and festivities of Orthodox Easter this year. On Saturday, May 4th at 11:15 pm, join us at the All Saints Church in Camden as the priest announces to the world "Christos Anesti! Christ is Risen!" heralding the joyous news that Jesus Christ has risen from the dead.

​This ancient celebration, kept by Orthodox Christians around the world, is a transcendent experience not to be missed. Late in the evening on Saturday night before midnight, the church will be overflowing as the faithful gather with excited anticipation. When the clock strikes 12, the church goes dark before erupting into a brilliant festival of light.

​Bells peal joyfully as the priest lights a central flame, representing Christ's eternal light. This holy fire is passed from candle to candle throughout the congregation. Young and old alike carefully hold tightly to their candles, symbols of the light of Christ dispelling the darkness of this world. After the service, you'll return home, using the flame to bless your home by tracing a cross on the doorframe. I will also bring some traditional red eggs and easter sweet bread!

​The celebrations will continue late into the night and joyful proclamations of "Christos Anesti! Alithos Anesti! Christ is Risen! Truly He is Risen!" Join us for this vibrant, meaningful celebration of the Resurrection at the heart of Christian faith.
