About Event

The Challenge

Calling all engineers with a twisted sense of humor! We're on a mission to create productivity tools that are brilliantly useless. Imagine a calendar that schedules meetings at impossible times, a focus app that deliberately distracts you with cat videos, or a task manager that prioritizes by how much you'll regret doing each item. The more technically impressive yet hilariously counterproductive, the better!

This is your chance to build that ridiculous app idea that would get you fired if you suggested it at work – but might just win you $5k at our hackathon (and Vercel credits!).

Who Should Join

Engineers who love building weird stuff and aren't afraid to flex their technical muscles for laughs. We're looking for folks with solid experience (we'll check your GitHub, past projects, and work history).

When & Where

Saturday, May 10th, 10:30AM - 6:00PM

Team Structure

Form groups of 4. Don't have a team? We'll match you up on the day.

Technical Requirements

  • Must deploy on Vercel

  • Must use React.js + Tailwind CSS

  • Can use v0 or Next.js templates

Prizes

  • Grand Prize ($5k total): Most technically advanced project

    • Plus $200 Vercel credits each for 6 months

  • Most Fun ($1k total): Most hilariously un-productive work tool

    • $100 Vercel credits each for 6 months

  • Best Designed ($1k total): Slickest looking but still silly app

    • $100 Vercel credits each for 6 months

Important Note

"Silly" means fun and creative, not offensive. All submissions must be safe and inclusive (we don't want anyone to get cancelled).

Limited Spots!

We're capping attendance at 48 engineers!
