Curator & Naturalist Tours of Beta Space: Patty Chang and David Kelley at the San José Museum of Art

​Explore the captivating exhibition Beta Space: Patty Chang and David Kelley at the San José Museum of Art on April 25th through a unique Curator & Naturalist Tour. This combined tour, led by Assistant Curator Juan Omar Rodriguez and Studio Arts Educator Shelby Hendricks, offers a multifaceted exploration of the artists' work.

​In the first hour from 12:30-1:30, Juan Omar Rodriguez will provide insights into the creative processes and environmental themes that drive the exhibition. The "Walk with a Naturalist" portion in the second hour, led by Shelby Hendricks from 1:30-2:30, will engage guests in an observation-based, scientific inquiry of the artwork, focusing on the deep sea ecosystem and its inhabitants. Through tactile experiences and VTS-based inquiries, guests will connect with the "more-than-human" world and explore the importance of protecting these unique environments.

​Following the event, participants can keep the conversation going over a no-host lunch at the museum or in a nearby restaurant. Hope you can make it!
