Hike Day - Laguna Peñalara
For our second Hike Day we are going softer :)
Discover one of the hidden gems in la Sierra de Madrid, La Laguna Grande de Peñalara, is the highest natural lake in Madrid Region.
The hike, will bring us from Puerto de Cotos thru Laguna Grande and up to Laguna Los Claveles. A beautiful landscape scrapped by rock formations where, in a sunny day, you can see the reflection of the peaks in the lake.
The day will start early in the morning and will take us around 2h to reach the starting point of the Hike. Followed by aprox 2h hike ascend, lunch time and around 1h45m hike descend. Expected return time in Madrid at 18:37.

Hi there, my name is Carlos. I'm a Madrileño by birth right, but a world citizen by heart. I'm a curious adventurer always in search for new ways of understanding life and happiness. I’m that kind of person who’s not defined by their job (people rarely guesses it), I've attempted painting, playing an instrument, graphic design, sports, etc... but by my true passions are undoubtly: food and people. Always in for a good bite. Always ready to listen (if I'm not doing the talking).
You will probably always find me surrounded by people having funny and interesting conversations and this weekend I want to take you on a HIKE!
Life is all about sharing and is never that serious, so let’s find a way to make fun of it and enjoy nature together.

This hike consists of two different stages, both of them considered Easy-Medium.
From Peñalara to Laguna Grande.

07:50am Meeting point - Chamartin Train Station at the tickets counter Cercanias closest to the Metro Station exit.
08:13-09:17 Cercanias Chamartin > Cercedilla.
09:35-10:05 Bus Cercedilla > Cotos.
10:15-12:30 Hike Cotos > Laguna Grande > Laguna los Claveles:
12:30-14:00 Lunch Time
14:00-16:00 Return Hike Laguna los Claveles > Cotos
16:00-16:40 Coffee time at Venta Marcelino
16:40-17:15 Bus Cotos > Cercedilla.
17:32-18:37 Cercanias Cercedilla > Chamartin.
Bringing your own car?
For those of you willing to use your own private transportation, meeting point will be at the Centro de Visitantes de Peñalara, at Cotos at 10:15am.
If you are using your car and want to bring other members a ride, please let us know when would you be able to pick up other members and how many people would you be able to fit in.
