About Event

The Entrepreneurs Network is hosting an event at the House of Lords on what a potential Labour government would mean for Britain’s entrepreneurs.

Previous polling we conducted found that entrepreneurs comfortably view the Labour Party as the party which best understands their needs. However, we have also heard questions about Labour’s policy stances on various issues pertinent to entrepreneurs.

This event will aim to address these questions directly to our network. Attendees will be a mix of entrepreneurs, investors and policy professionals.

Our speakers and panellists will include the following:

Seema Malhotra MP: Seema is the Shadow Minister for Skills, Co-Founder & President of the Fabian Women's Network, and Chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Entrepreneurship.

Rajesh Agrawal. Having served as a Deputy Mayor of London for Business and Chairman of Landon and Partners, Rajesh is now a Labour candidate for Leicester East. As a fintech entrepreneur, Rajesh has strong ties within the UK’s startup ecosystem.

Tom Adeyoola. As an entrepreneur himself, Tom co-wrote Labour’s recent policy paper on startups, “Start-Up, Scale-Up”. He was the CEO and Founder of apparel technology scale-up Metail. Tom currently serves as Non-Executive Director for multiple companies including Channel 4 and is an active investor in startups.

Lulu Freemont. Lulu is a Director at Milltown Partners, an international advisory firm. She is also the Secretary of Labour Digital, which aims to empower the digital and technology policy discussion within the party.

Neil Ross (Chair). As the Associate Director of Policy at techUK, a membership organisation for technology businesses and professionals, Neil will chair this event.

The Entrepreneurs Network is a think tank for Britain’s most ambitious entrepreneurs. We bridge the gap between entrepreneurs and policymakers, with the aim of making Britain the best place in the world to start and grow a business. We have a network of over 10,000 entrepreneurs and are the Secretariat of the All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) for Entrepreneurship, which sits across the House of Commons and House of Lords.
