Understand your genome
If you could edit your genome, what would you add? What would you subtract?
This is a brief lecture and probably longer interactive session for people who want to understand and interpret their own genome.
I'll first cover an overview of the 'state of the field' in genome sequencing and editing, with a focus on products rather than research per se. How has the dramatic scientific progress in genomics over the past decade translated into real-world impact?
We'll then dive into tools that are available for genome interpretation like Promethease and DNAGenics, and I'll discuss a project along these lines that I've been working on.
To get the most out of this latter part, bring a laptop and your 'raw' genetic results from 23andMe, AncestryDNA, Nucleus or anything similar. Note some tools are paid.
