About Event

Overview

Crypto has been angling for its consumer breakthrough for years.

Finance, art, and gaming have all been touted as use cases for decentralized payments, smart contracts, identity and NFTs that will draw mainstream adoption.

But the breakthrough has yet to come — crypto and web3 is still the domain of early adopters.

Fascinated by its own technology and ideals and over-reliant on incentives to early adopters, crypto products and growth strategies fail to embrace the methods that great companies have used to reach consumers digitally for decades. We can start changing that.

Join us for a brunch where we’ll hear from company builders who have successfully grown major consumer businesses and learn how crypto can embrace what makes it special while also learning from the past to create the consumer breakthroughs we’re looking for.

Event

Panel 1: Meeting Consumers Where They Are

Bringing innovative products to the world can require educating users and rewiring their habits. Product, growth, design, and engineering need to work together seamlessly.

  • How is this accomplished?

  • How do companies strike the balance between the new and the familiar in a way that preserves the value of the innovation but does not present too large of a hurdle for users to adjust to?

Hear from people who have built successful consumer startups inside and outside of the crypto space.

Panelists

  • Moderated by Jules Mossler, CoinFund

  • Raj Parekh, CEO, Portal

  • Andy Bromberg, CEO, Eco

  • Fern Murias, Senior Product Manager, DraftKings

Panel 2: Web3 Superpowers and How to Embrace What’s New

Decentralized networks have unique properties (tokens, governance, portable accounts, data ownership) that can both supercharge and destroy the consumer’s experience with a product.

  • How should consumer companies bring these to market: are these breakthrough technologies to be front and center or hidden perks for the crypto-curious users?

  • How is the marketing different from web2? What projects are breaking through?

Join industry experts as we navigate the crossroads of technology, consumer expectations, and new marketing strategies.

Panelists

  • Moderated by Sam Ewen, SVP, CoinDesk

  • Roneil Rumburg, CEO, Audius
