About Event

Dozens of cleantech startups have roots in Oregon and more are founded here every year.  Oregon and other Pacific Northwest community members want to see more great climate technology companies sprout, grow and thrive here.  This event is primarily about the companies and second about our great supporting investor community.

Join us for this afternoon Happy Hour event from 3:00 to 6:00 pm on July 22 in an inner SE Portland Location (shared with successful registration) for some tasty food and local wine, beer and non-alcoholic selections and hear brief summaries and see demos from an exciting group of nine (or more) cleantech startup founders and network with angels and other new or highly experienced climate investors.

3:45 pm to 4:45 pm: Company short presentations

4:45 to 6:00 pm: Networking investors and companies, demos, tour, etc.

  1. nexTC  Cory Perkins, CEO – https://www.nextcmaterials.com/ – will describe their state-of-the-art processes for manufacturing thin film coatings and the most promising use cases they are pursuing.

  2. Espiku – Bahman Abbas, CEO is travelling, so Jesse Rubenstein will be presenting – https://www.espiku.com/ –  has developed a horizontal evaporation water treatment system, SCEPTER, to deal with the rapidly growing produced water issue. The system cleans waste water to irrigation quality for half the cost of current wastewater practices, and none of the negative environmental impacts.

  3. Skip Technology – Madisen McCleary, CEO – http://www.skiptek.com/ – will also give a lab tour and energy storage battery demo next door.  Come meet the science team and interact with their product.

  4. Photon Marine – Marcelino Alvarez, CEO – https://www.photonmarine.com/  – Photon is developing the world’s most powerful and intelligent electric outboard motors for commercial applications.  They will have their 300 HP electric outboard powered boat on site for the event. 

  5. Focal Technologies – Eric Steinmeyer, CEO – https://raymediate.com/  – Transforms waste management with cutting-edge solar technology treating contaminants and reducing organic concentrations in waste and process waters with minimal energy inputs. Will have their Ray mobile unit with its 8-foot concentrator of solar heat and high-intensity UV on site.

  6. HumanKind Homes – Eliot Kahn, CEO – https://www.humankindhomes.com/ – has developed the next generation of cinder blocks made from carbon-negative concrete and designed for automated on-site assembly of disaster-resistant homes & buildings.

  7. Birch Biosciences - Johan Kers, Cofounder and CEO – https://www.birchbiosciences.com/ – will explain their revolutionary plastic recycling technologies using generative AI and advanced enzyme engineering to bring plastics into the circular economy.

  8. Lit Motors  –  Daniel Kim, CEO – https://www.litmotors.com/  – will have their AEV (Autonomous-balancing Electric Vehicle) combining the best of two and four-wheeled travel without sacrificing comfort, safety, speed, performance, or cost on site.

  9. Currents – Anthony Garbarino, CEO – https://www.currents.market/ – Currents is a B2B software platform in the end-of-life automotive supply chain enabling EV and hybrid battery circularity.
