About Event

Put on your Sunday best, grab a mimosa and join us for a talk by the amazing Louis Potok, founder of Recoolit - a company keeping refrigerants out of the atmosphere while increasing revenues for developing world AC installers and producing high quality carbon offsets.

HFC-type refrigerants are commonly used in AC systems and are over 1000x more potent than CO2. For those of you fans of project drawdown - refrigerant management was their #1 solution, and others may have heard the statistic that Window ACs in India contribute about 1/2 as much to global warming in refrigerant releases than the coal powered electricity used to power them. Recoolit is solving this for end-of-life of AC units in the global south.

Before founding Recoolit, Louis had fascinating jobs in socially positive ventures applying data science and behavioral economics to medical decision making and humane debt collections. We're lucky to catch him for this talk before he moved to Indonesia.

Following a 30 minute talk + Q&A, we’ll break out into smaller discussion groups for the awesome folks in the community to meet each other.

Friends are welcome! See y’all in glorious 2D.
