🎤 About Our Speakers
Katie Houck, Senior Director at Global Fund for Women has over ten years of experience building fundraising teams, leading philanthropic engagement and strategy and increasing revenue for organizations focused on protecting human rights. Previously, Katie served as the New Business Director at Malala Fund and exponentially expanded new donor revenue from individuals, corporations and foundations to help advance girls' education and fight for every girl's right to learn. During her tenure, she built the new donor fundraising team and strategy from the ground up. Earlier in her career, Katie also led the major gifts team at the Washington Office on Latin America, maximizing partnerships and impact to help protect human rights and social justice in the Americas. She is passionate about building authentic, impactful relationships with donors, making philanthropy a space where everyone is welcome and supporting locally-led movements and activists focused on equity and justice.
Katie received her BA in Communication Studies and English from Southern Methodist University and her MA in Social Business and Entrepreneurship at the London School of Economics and Political Science. In her free time, she enjoys reading, sculpting, checking out the theater scene in DC and spending quality time with her son Jesse.
Lacey Veal, Senior Manager, DEIA at Chan Zuckerberg Initiative. CZI leverages technology, community-driven solutions, and collaboration "to solve some of society’s toughest challenges—from eradicating disease to improving education and addressing the needs of our local communities."
Lacey is a values and impact-driven leader with 14+ years of experience in education, conflict resolution, and diversity, equity, and inclusion, accessibility and facilitation. She leads with empathy, creativity, and strategy to create sustainable impact. Her superpower is the ability to align DEIA initiatives with business needs and goals through creative problem solving. She is recognized as an authentic leader with deep cultural competencies, strong collaboration skills, and the ability to drive change. She enjoys operationalizing DEIA strategies and representing both her personal values and organizational vision on a global stage.
Lacey has been a speaker at Lesbian Who Tech New York Summit, sharing insights on how to identify and resolve performative DEIA efforts. She has been a guest speaker at the Mediation Society's Annual Martin Luther King, Jr Dinner, attended by experienced mediators, attorneys, and judges in the Bay Area. She was selected as a Panelist for Pandora's Mixt Tape Tech & Entrepreneurship panel and Udemy's Forward CXO virtual learning event for HR, L&D, and tech executives committed to fostering an inclusive culture through learning. Lacey also served as a Board Member at the Center of Understanding in Conflict.
A Texas native, Lacey currently resides in the Bay Area. In her free time, you can find her visiting her favorite restaurants and shopping locations or on the golf course.
Noelle Williams, Senior Director of Institutional Partnerships at the Center of Reproductive Rights joined the Center for Reproductive Rights in 2020. As the Senior Director of Institutional Partnerships, Noelle leads the Center’s fundraising strategy focused on institutional donors, including foundations, governments, and corporations. She has over a decade of experience in Development, with a particular focus on institutional fundraising. Prior to the Center, Noelle served as Associate Director for Development (Foundation Relations) for the International Women’s Health Coalition where she managed a donor portfolio that raised 70% of the organization’s revenue, and as the Officer for Corporate and Foundation Relations for Helen Keller International. Noelle also worked on the Development team at the Global Fund for Women and, before leaping into the international NGO sphere, she spent time working for Ms. Magazine. Noelle holds a bachelor’s in English from the University of Michigan and a master’s of Public Administration, specializing in Public and Nonprofit Management and Policy, from New York University.
