About Max Huisman
Max Huisman is the Co-Founder and CTO of Prolific Machines, a Silicon Valley-based biotech startup pioneering photomolecular biomanufacturing—using light to produce food, therapeutics, and novel biosolutions with greater efficiency and precision. Since its founding in 2020, Prolific has raised $97 million to advance its AI-enhanced platform inspired by optogenics.
Max earned his PhD in Biomedical Sciences at UMass Medical School, where he also worked as a PostDoc at the RNA Therapeutics Institute. He developed the world’s first cryogenic super-resolution fluorescence microscope, holds multiple patents, has co-authored over 10 academic papers, and speaks five languages. He holds Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees in Applied Physics from Delft University of Technology.

About Oliver Binkhorst
Oliver Binkhorst advises VCs and founders and initiated DutchTechX, which spun out of DutchTechSF, the Dutch-American entrepreneurial community.
DutchTechX facilitates collaboration between US and Netherlands-based funders and founders, and is best known for Trek, its flagship program that connects Netherlands-based founders and funders with startup leaders in Silicon Valley.
Oliver has 20+ years of experience in the technology sector across China, Europe, and the US, holding go-to-market roles at companies including Coverity (acq. by $SNPS), ScanSafe (acq. by $CSCO), and Atlassian ($TEAM). Previously, he helped establish ATRE, the first conference for startups in China.
