Screening Program: Short Collection 短片单元

​This shorts collection weaves together eight films across Mandarin, Cantonese, English, Persian, Egyptian Arabic, Kazakh, and Swedish—each exploring the theme of mother tongue from 1985 to 2024. From the grainy intimacy of Super 8 to the frontier of generative AI, these films summon language as both refuge and rebellion. Some cradle prayers for the women of the Iranian Movement in epic tales, while others stitch mother tongue into masks, whispering long-held secrets to her grandmother.
