​Hack4Bengal is a hackathon focused on encouraging innovation and creativity in the technology space, specifically in the region of West Bengal, India.

​This year, Hack4Bengal has collaborated with the Department of Information Technology and Electronics, Government of West Bengal, as well as the Cyber Security Centre of Excellence, West Bengal. They are committed to supporting our efforts to foster the hackathon spirit in West Bengal. This collaboration will provide all our hackers with exposure to industry members and opportunities to interact with them.

​During the event, participants will be able to work on real-world problems, develop new skills and techniques related to software development, design, and entrepreneurship, and collaborate with like-minded individuals in a team setting. This time Hack4Bengal is back to leverage expertise in the offline mode with 36 Hours in-person Hackathon.

​🔎 Can I participate remotely ❓

​​Hack4Bengal 2.0 is an in-person hackathon. So remote participation is not applicable.

​🔎 How much does it cost to participate ❓

​​Nothing, participation in Hack4Bengal 2.0 is absolutely FREE!!🎉 We’ll have meals, snacks, and beverages onsite at the hackathon, in addition to swags, prizes, fun mini-events and more.

​🔎 I am a beginner, can I participate ❓

​​Absolutely. We will have mentors and resources available, along with several workshops targeted for beginners. Come learn and experience your first hackathon at Hack4Bengal.

​🔎 What is the maximum team size❓ Can I participate as a Solo Hacker❓

​​We encourage you to make a team of minimum 2 and maximum 4 members. If you are a Solo Hacker and do not have a team, you can still register and we will help you find a team on our Discord Server.

​🔎 How can I reach the venue ❓

​The nearest airport from the venue is Kolkata Airport and the nearest railway station from the venue is Howrah Railway Station. You will be able to get cab services from both the places to the venue. You can find more info on the venue guide here.

​🔎 Will you support or reimburse our travel expenses ❓

​​Since Hack4Bengal 2.0 is a community-driven hackathon, unfortunately we will not be able to support you with travel.

​🔎 What are the sleeping arrangements ❓

​​On both nights (28th April & 29th April) we will have a supervised sleeping space for hackers to rest and sleep at the venue. We recommend bringing your own blanket if you need one.

​🔎 I am below 18 years of age, can I participate in the hackathon ❓

​​Yes! You can participate in the hackathon but we would need written consent from your parent/guardian and you wouldn’t be allowed to leave the venue during the hackathon.

​🔎 Who can participate ❓

​​All students, whether in schools or colleges, are welcome to participate in Hack4Bengal. If you're interested in innovation or just looking for a fun learning experience, we encourage you to join us for the weekend.
