Plato's Republic

​Nota bene: Events are free for members (check your email for your discount code, or just ask me for it).

​You really have no right to say anything about politics if you've never read Republic front to back. One of my mentors in grad school said that you should always be reading and re-reading the Republic.

​This will take about 9 hours of focused reading. Though it's relatively easy-going as far as classical texts are concerned. Aim for 1 hour every morning for about 9 days.

​While reading, please prepare some written observations, or at the very least some questions for discussion.

​I'll begin with some remarks on what I find most interesting, but these meetings are primarily for you to develop your own ideas around the material.
