About Event

The Art of Communication in Tech

In response to high demand and the needs of an evolving workforce, we're hosting a special EnTec Social Hour focused on a critical skill that sets you apart: communication.

Have you ever felt like you have the technical skills down, but navigating conversations with your manager, peers, or clients feels like a whole different language? You're not alone. In the tech world, your ability to communicate effectively is just as critical as your ability to code.

Join us for The Art of Communication in Tech, a special, highly interactive Social Hour event designed to give you the communicator's edge. This isn't a lecture. It's an opportunity to learn from facilitators and, just as importantly, from each other. You'll leave this session with practical frameworks and the confidence to handle the most common workplace challenges.

In this session, you will:

  • Get to know us: Saudah Mohamed, EnTec Social Hour Creator & Host, and Samantha Pierre, EnTec Social Hour Co-Host.

  • Navigate best practices for difficult conversations with clarity and confidence.

  • Practice handling real-world scenarios in a safe, supportive environment.

  • Gain invaluable insights from your peers during our live peer support forum.

  • Connect with fellow students in structured networking and interactive breakout sessions that will target a specific challenge.

This session will be facilitated by Saudah and Samantha.

A Special Announcement for Attendees:

Be the first to hear about our new, exclusive EnTec Social Hour sub-series. This targeted bi-monthly program is designed to cultivate a tightly knit community, explore and strengthen targeted social-emotional and 21st century skills, and aim to ensure that all members gain and maintain meaningful employment.

Members of this sub-series will be paired with a mentor—like myself or a matched peer—to support them throughout their academic and career paths.

This is a unique opportunity to start planning your future. While all students will eventually receive information about this series, attendees of this event will get the first look and a head start on getting involved. Please Note: Membership for the sub-series is limited to students in specific EnTec programs.
