Who’s Building the Smart City?—An Ecosystem Mapping Workshop @ DC Tech Meetup #89
Uncover the hidden dynamics of the smart cities ecosystem in the DMV.
Join us for an interactive workshop where you'll:
Map the Ecosystem: Collaborate with fellow insiders to identify the key players, resources, and relationships that drive the DC/DMV smart city landscape.
Uncover Opportunities: Discover the untapped potential and emerging trends within the ecosystem.
Forge Connections: Connect with industry leaders, policymakers, and entrepreneurs who are shaping the future of smart cities.
Become an Insider: Gain access to uncommon knowledge and insights that will give you a competitive edge.
This workshop is for you if:
You're a founder, investor, policymaker, or professional working in the smart cities space.
You're passionate about building a more sustainable, equitable, and technologically advanced future for our cities.
Here's how we'll kickoff co-creating the future of smart cities, together:
Lean Brainstorm (20 minutes): We'll kick off with a "lean coffee" style brainstorming session, where you'll contribute topics and vote on the top 3 areas you want to explore. This ensures the session is democratically tailored to high demand focus areas while allowing for ample discussion and idea generation.
Breakout Groups & Ecosystem Mapping (60 minutes): We'll divide into smaller groups (attendance depending) each focused on one of the chosen topic areas. Using the whiteboard, each group will simultaneously map the ecosystem—combining stakeholder categorization, value chain mapping, and actor-network mapping. This extended time allows for deeper exploration and more detailed mapping.
Presentation & Discussion (10 minutes): Each group will shared their map and key insights with the larger group, fostering discussion and collective knowledge sharing. This longer timeframe allows for more in-depth analysis and brainstorming of potential solutions and collaborations.
