Earth Observation for Climate
About the Event
Given the significance of Earth Observation (EO), in particular satellites for monitoring, mitigating, and adapting to climate change, TerraWatch Space is organizing a side event during NYC Climate Week, focusing on three primary use cases:
EO for Greenhouse Gas Emission Monitoring,
EO for Carbon Markets,
EO for Nature & Biodiversity Monitoring
Location
Midtown Manhattan - W 38th St
Audience
This event will gather a multidisciplinary audience of EO industry professionals, enterprises (in finance, insurance, sustainability, energy, agriculture, etc.), investors, researchers, policymakers, and non-profits.
Goals
Educate the audience on the role of EO and its potential in methane, carbon, and biodiversity monitoring,
Discuss challenges related to the adoption of EO, including factors such as willingness to pay, standards, and trust,
Examine the technological, financial, and policy gaps in the mainstream operational use of EO for the three use cases.
