Bio
Martin is a physician, epidemiologist, biomedical engineer, entrepreneur, and scientist, optimizing healthcare by translating clinical needs into technical solutions. He met his co-founders in the Stanford Ignite program in 2019. After concluding the program, Segmed was incorporated. Segmed helps tackle the algorithmic bias present in medical AI development and the inequalities across the healthcare system. Learn more: segmed.ai
Martin and his team participated in StartX, Stanford d. school, Y Combinator, and Alchemist Accelerator and raised $3.2M from VCs, including Blumberg Capital and Nina Capital.
Martin graduated from the University of Groningen with a medical degree and obtained a Ph.D. in medical imaging from Utrecht University. Like most Dutch people, he bikes to work and can't live without cheese.
