Stellenbosch Chapter Meeting: The University’s Role in Solving Congestion

After a packed and energetic first meeting, we’re coming back—this time with Stellenbosch University in the room.
One of the strongest themes raised on 2 April was the absence of the University in local efforts to address congestion. That’s why our next chapter event will feature a public panel discussion where University representatives will respond directly to these concerns and outline how they plan to contribute to practical solutions.
We’re pleased to confirm that the panel will include John de Wet and Dr Megan Bruwer from Stellenbosch University, alongside voices from civil society and the broader community. The Municipality has also confirmed they will be present to answer questions directed to them.
The event will include a Q&A session, and the agenda will be shared shortly. We’ll also update you on the results of our public action polls (you can still vote), next steps in our advocacy work, and how we’re building pressure to move forward on long-stalled mobility plans.
This event is open to all—students, residents, staff, the general public, government officials, and friends of Stellenbosch. This is your chance to hear directly from the University and local authorities, and to make your voice heard.
