Rang de Riso: Risograph printing workshop for Asian Australian artists
Let’s have a print party 🖨️ HOISZN and Tree Paper Gallery are hosting a 1-hour risograph printing workshop for Asian-Australian artists! Join us on Saturday, 24 May at Tree Paper Gallery for a hands-on session that includes a demo of the risograph printing process and a special print exchange!
You’ll walk away with 13 A4 two-colour riso prints of your own design, plus 7 surprise prints from your fellow artists — printed on luxe, thick stocks like 100% recycled Envirocare or Mohawk Superfine Smooth White (216–250gsm). That’s 20 deliciously inky prints total 🍒💥
🎨Your artwork for this workshop will need to be submitted by Wednesday 21 May
The colours available at Tree Paper Gallery are: Red, Blue, Yellow, Aqua, Fluro Pink, Metallic Gold and Black. Basic instructions on file setup are available at treepapergallery.com. Please email Tree Paper Gallery if you have any questions.

– Share stories behind your designs, ask questions, and swap tips in an open convo about riso and creativity.

All riso printing materials are provided on the day.

About the hosts
Tree Paper Gallery is an independent gallery, workshop space and printer of Australasian graphic novels, zines and comics based in the Nicholas Building, Room 512, on Swanston St, Melbourne. It was formed by Samuel Emery to support local emerging and established cartoonists and artists. Tree Paper prints primarily using Riso technology.
HOISZN is a quarterly art and design magazine based in Naarm/Melbourne, dedicated to celebrating the talents of Asian-Australian creatives. Independently created, designed, and produced, HOISZN seeks to amplify perspectives that enrich our cultural landscape.
We collaborate closely with artists, writers, creatives, businesses, and organisations to bolster our presence and create opportunities and spaces for members of our community to thrive.
