Community Conversations: Vive le Tour, Vive les Femmes · book presentation
This event is open to all genders and in English.
Many of us have been captivated by the Tour de France this year. But while the men’s race has a long tradition of celebrated stories, the Tour de France Femmes has an equally rich history, one that, until recently, remained largely untold.
This absence of a written record about the women’s race inspired Julia Mullié and Tim de Vries to combine their expertise and create the first book on the subject: Vive le Tour, Vive les Femmes.
At this special event, Julia and Tim will reflect on the just-finished Tour de France Femmes in conversation with Eva Buurman (Sports Director for NXTG Racing) and Quinty Ton (pro cyclist from Liv Jayco AlUla). Together, they’ll explore the fascinating history of women’s cycling stories brought to life in Vive le Tour, Vive les Femmes.

Julia is an avid cyclist and has published numerous art books as an art historian. Tim, a Eurosport commentator, is known as a walking encyclopedia of women’s cycling.
Guest speaker • Quinty Ton @quintyton
A former marathon speed skater turned cycling pro, Quinty Ton has proven she belongs in the WorldTour peloton. She has faced more than her fair share of setbacks, including a career-threatening injury in 2024. Despite this, she has already been an incredible asset to her team, Liv Jayco AlUla , during two editions of the Tour de France Femmes. Quinty is a renowned team player, but she also achieves brilliant results in some of the most prestigious races on the international calendar. Beyond being a model teammate and a fierce attacker, she is equally gifted at telling stories!
Guest speaker • Eva Buurman @eva_buurman
Although she never raced the Tour de France herself, former pro Eva Buurman knows what it’s like to be part of the biggest cycling show on earth thanks to her role in the TV crew. During her years in the professional women’s peloton, she witnessed the sport evolve rapidly. While her racing days may be behind her, Eva still radiates passion for cycling and works tirelessly to inspire more women to take up the sport. As both an ambassador for Liv and a Sports Director for NXTG Racing, the world’s leading women’s development team, she plays a key role in making cycling a better place for all women.
