Identity 2.0: How do you want to be remembered online?
✨ A soft space for hard questions ✨
Join us for a gentle introduction to digital legacy. Through guided creative activities, we explore how we want to (if at all) exist online once we have passed away.
We’re holding this space because managing traditional assets is challenging enough, but digital footprints and social media dial up the complexity of the end of life process. And there’s still no societal consensus, legislation, or consistent platform policies for handling digital legacies.
We will be talking about sensitive topics including grieving, loss and remembering loved ones. As we all arrive to this space with different relationships to these topics, and we will do our best to create a space for everyone. You will be allowed to leave if at any moment you no longer feel comfortable.
We want to delve into this topic together, to support each other and understand how technology reshapes loss and legacy and in turn how we can shape technology.
This is a continuation of a larger project from Identity 2.0, a creative studio imagining better digital futures. For over a year, we have been looking at the world of digital memories and legacy. We recently did a panel talk about this topic at Republica if you’re interested: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p-MkX3g4Ufo&t=1699s&ab_channel=re%3Apublica
