GPT Workshop

​OpenAI, creator of Chat-GPT, is one of the biggest companies in the Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning space. They have developed the single most powerful large language model (LLM) to date GPT-4.

​In this workshop you will get a quick introduction to what LLMs are and how they can be used before quickly getting your hands dirty working with them.

​During this 2 hour block you will learn:

• ​How to set up an account with OpenAI and get access to their API

• ​How to create a custom AI assistant on their platform

• ​How to prompt your custom assistant to get it to behave how you want

• ​And finally, how to deploy your custom assistant online for others to use

​For those of you who get through the above quickly there will be extensions for you to work on :)

​A couple prerequisites you will need to make this process run smoothly:

• ​Familiarity with git and Github (git should be installed and ready to use on your computer)

• ​Knowledge of Javascript (You should have NodeJS and NPM intstalled on you computer)

• ​The desire to learn (This is the most important)

• ​One dollar (the OpenAI API is not free to use, but $1 should be more than enough to get you started)

• ​Some excitement! (You are about to learn how to use some of the most cutting edge tech currently available. Be happy about it!)

​The goal of this workshop is to help you learn about and get experience with the current ecosystem tools available through OpenAI. It should serve as a starting point for any future work you want to do in the space. Not only is this an oppourtunity to learn, but what you build will also serve as a unique side project that you can easily extend later or put on a resume.

​I truly believe that AI will be the most influential technology in the world over the next 20+ years, and you are about to experiment with it yourself!
