  • Philip Saunders serves as the Division Director, Logistics and Emergency Management of the City of Seattle, overseeing the Green Fleet Program and recognized as #4 Green Fleet in the top 100 Best Fleets 2019 ranking. He authored the 2019 City of Seattle Green Fleet Action Plan and works with all City departments in reducing fleet emissions in support of Seattle’s climate goals. For his leadership in electric vehicles and technology adoption, he received Governor Jay Inslee’s Award for Leadership in Management. As a vital part of the City’s diversity team, Philip continually champions small businesses led by minorities, women and disadvantaged business enterprises through key outreach and unique contracting techniques. Philip is a retired military officer with 20 years as an Army logistician and contracting officer, where he managed an array of contracts in logistical related services. He is a proud member of Kappa Alpha Psi, a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, Demonstrated Senior Logistician, and Master Certified Food Executive. He also currently serves as Western Washington Clean Cities Coalition Committee Chair, Board Member of Columbia Williamete Clean Cities and an appointed mentorship committee member for the National Institute of Governmental Purchasing.
