About Event

​As part of Los Angeles Climate Week, join a free in-person event hosted by CTrees at Los Angeles Cleantech Incubator, focused on natural climate solutions in California.

Speakers will include:

  • Marissa Christiansen, Executive Director, Climate & Wildfire Institute

  • Rebecca Ferdman, Sustainability Policy Director, Los Angeles County Chief Sustainability Office

  • Michael Goulden, Ph.D., Professor of Earth System Science, University of California, Irvine

  • Sassan Saatchi, Ph.D., CEO, Co-founder, and Chief Scientist, CTrees; Senior Research Scientist, NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory/Caltech; Adjunct Professor, UCLA Institute of the Environment and Sustainability

The panel will dive into statewide efforts to reduce wildfire risk, protect carbon in forests, restore wetlands and grasslands, improve urban canopies, and more. 

​From the latest wildfire science to innovations in satellite technology and new state policies, the discussion will highlight the ideas and initiatives shaping the future of natural climate solutions in California and beyond.
