Earth Day Forest Bathing Hike
Celebrate Earth Day with a serene forest bathing hike! Forest bathing, also known as shinrin-yoku in Japanese, is a therapeutic practice that involves immersing oneself in a natural environment, typically a forest or wooded area. This event is designed to foster creativity, sustainability, and community among creatives who live in the tri-state area.
Schedule
11:00 AM - Welcome and Introduction
We’ll start with a brief introduction about forest bathing and its benefits.
11:15 AM - Guided Forest Bathing Walk
A series of invitations will be offered that will facilitate a deeper sense of connection to your surroundings and to your physical body. These activities may be mindful, playful, experiential, or imaginal in nature. The hike around Saffin Pond and up to Headley Overlook is approx. 4 miles total.
12:00 PM - Lunch Break
Bring your own lunch and enjoy a picnic in the forest.
1:00 PM - Sharing Circle
We’ll gather to share any thoughts, emotions, or insights that arose during the activities.
1:30 PM - Closing Meditation
We’ll end the event with a short meditation to allow ourselves to fully absorb the experience.
