As pressure grows to deliver high-integrity, permanent carbon removal, two pathways are emerging—technology-based solutions like direct air capture and carbon mineralization, and nature-based approaches like reforestation and soil carbon. Each comes with trade-offs around cost, scalability, co-benefits, and permanence.
