We’re bringing together curious minds at the intersection of biology, software, and big data — whether you’re in academia, industry, or somewhere in between. We’re thrilled to welcome two outstanding scientists: Fabio Lolicato and Silvia Acosta-Gutiérrez.
• Fabio Lolicato — Group Leader at the Heidelberg University Biochemistry Center (BZH), Fabio’s research explores the complex interplay between proteins and lipids in cellular membranes. He’ll present his work on integrating computer simulations with experimental data to reveal the mechanism of FGF2 translocation and pore formation — and how this has inspired the design of proteins that mimic this behavior.
• Silvia Acosta-Gutiérrez — Computational Physicist and Head of Molecular Simulation at InstaDeep. Based in London, Silvia’s work focuses on physics-based simulation techniques and advanced biophysical modeling to support drug discovery. Her expertise includes the development of tools and methods for analysing channel electrostatics, molecular transport, and molecular recognition, as well as leading the development of machine learning interatomic potentials (MLIPs) applied to molecular simulation at InstaDeep.
