Max Carter: Palestine—A Personal Encounter
Sunday, February 26, 7:00–8:30 p.m.

Presented over Zoom by the Israel-Palestine Resource Group of New England Yearly Meeting [https://neym.org/israel-palestine-resource-group]. Registration is required.

Please join us as we continue to learn about the current situation and history of Palestine/Israel, through the experiences of people who know and love the people and place.

Max Carter is a retired educator and former director of Friends Center at Guilford College.  Max is a recorded minister among Friends and has a long history of traveling and building relationships in Palestine and Israel. His next visit is scheduled for early this summer and he writes:

"Might your New Year's resolution be finally to travel with Jane and me on a Friends United Meeting ‘Living Letters’ trip to Palestine and Israel? We are resuming our service-learning trips after the long pandemic shutdown. This summer's experience is scheduled for June 23 - July 11.

“Along with the usual service at the Ramallah Friends School of painting, cleaning, and landscaping, we'll travel to the usual religious and historical sites in Jerusalem, Bethlehem, Hebron, the Galilee, Jordan Valley, and West Bank villages. We'll meet with Palestinians and Israelis working for peace & justice and learn about the current situation. A special focus will be on the impact of the military occupation on the indigenous Palestinian Christian community. Housing will be at the Ramallah Friends School."
