Footwork TakeOva presents The Streets

​Join us Friday, August 16 at South Side Sanctuary for The Streets—a Chicago footwork battle that brings the energy back where it belongs: the South Side. This event brings together dancers, DJs, and community for an afternoon of raw talent, high-level battles, and real recognition.

Entry: $10 at the door | Free for dancers | Limited sign-ups available on-site

​Doors at 1pm (sign ups begin, until spots fill)

​Battle Formats

​Cypher
The cypher is a 16-person bracket-style footwork battle where the winner is decided online via voting. Rounds 1–3 are 30 seconds each. Round 4 is 60 seconds. The global community picks the winner, no judges!

​TakeOva Battle Format

​Only 16 dancers will get to compete in the cypher, so we’ll have an additional battle on-site for us to decide a winner in real time. Format will be announced on-site and sign up will be at the door. 

​Prizes
$200 – In-person battle winner
$300 – Online cypher winner (winner selected and announced with 3-5 days)
Total Cash Prize: $500
