Responsible Tests for the Public Procurement of AI
Responsible Tests for the Public Procurement of AI
When: Wednesday 1st May, 1-4pm
Where: Law Society, 113 Chancery Lane, London WC2A 1PL
The Responsible AI UK’s Law and Governance Working Group are delighted to invite you to attend this interdisciplinary workshop. This workshop is for experts from the public sector and industry.
Responsible AI is the UK’s ecosystem for responsible AI development. Funded by UKRI, the programme brings together research, training and policy capabilities to build our understanding of how AI can operate for the benefit of people, communities and society.
Public procurement is a powerful tool for both regulation and market-shaping. The object of this workshop is to develop a set of responsibility measures that will help ensure government innovation can develop efficiently and in line with the public interest. Drawing on the views of panellists and workshop attendees from central government, local government, academia, law and civil society, this will inform an expert White Paper, to be published later in 2024.
The event will include short panel discussions followed by facilitated small group discussions on key topics.
Confirmed panellists include:
Felicity Burch, Responsible Technology Adoption Unit, DSIT
Angus Montgomery, Central Digital and Data Office, Cabinet Office
Jenny McEneaney, LGA
Sam Nutt, London Office of Technology Innovation
