About Event

Hosted by The PhotoBridge Project with Guillaume Binet, Karen Lambert, and Roger Middleton

In a world where overseas development assistance is shrinking beyond recognition, the ability to capture attention—and hold it—has never been more urgent. This interactive session explores how visual storytelling is becoming one of the most powerful tools to mobilize resources, engage donors, and build long-term partnerships grounded in trust and emotion.

Why Visuals Matter
Images are processed 60,000 times faster than text. A compelling photo can spark curiosity, stir empathy, and inspire action—often in seconds. But how do we tell stories ethically, effectively, and in ways that truly resonate?

Join the team behind The PhotoBridge Project as they share a relationship-driven approach to visual storytelling that pairs world-class photographers with local NGOs to craft authentic narratives—ones that reflect the true voice of communities and bridge the gap between need and support.

What to Expect

Part 1: Why Storytelling, Why Now
Roger Middleton opens with the global context—exploring humanitarian funding cuts, the limitations of conventional communication models, and the urgent need for new approaches that center dignity, narrative equity, and local insight.

Part 2: The Case for Visual Fundraising
Karen Lambert, with over 20 years of experience in peacebuilding and humanitarian action, shares compelling data on how and why images outperform text in donor engagement. She’ll unpack how visual storytelling can help NGOs cut through the noise and mobilize sustainable funding in an increasingly competitive landscape.

Part 3: Crafting Impactful Visual Stories
Guillaume Binet, award-winning photographer and co-founder of MYOP, dives into the craft of powerful photo-narratives. From composition to context, he will break down what makes a story resonate—and how NGOs can collaborate with visual artists to tell theirs ethically and effectively.

Part 4: Showcase & Dialogue
Guillaume will present select PhotoBridge stories that exemplify their approach to narrative integrity and emotional resonance. The session will close with an open discussion—inviting attendees to reflect on how visual storytelling could reshape their own communications, campaigns, and fundraising strategies.
