AI Policy Reading Group 7 - The US AI Action Plan
The US White House's Request for Information (RFI) aimed at shaping the Trump administration’s new AI Action Plan closed on March 15th. Virtually all frontier AI labs, including OpenAI, Anthropic and Google have submitted proposals. During this session, we'll examine them.
We'll take a look at how tech companies, think tanks, and industry groups have framed their priorities on infrastructure, regulation, national security, and U.S. competitiveness. Crucially, we'll look at their rhetoric on AI Safety and the risks involved with AI advancement.
In our final session of the semester, we'll assess the present moment in AI governance and consider the likely impact on technology development, governance, and U.S. foreign policy of the AI Action Plan.
Drinks and Snacks will be provided!
