Soapbox Project and Amrūt are excited to welcome you to our July plant-based supper club on the theme of water.
We can't wait you invite you to a joyful community space where you can connect, learn, and take action towards a more resilient future.
“Time slowed down and we just ate, laughed, and talked for hours...This evening was so special and I feel so much more connected to my community!”
What to expect
We'll welcome you to an evening of vibrant, nourishing, and seasonal food. You'll get a four-course meal, where each course is paired with a climate action prompt.
Here's what's on the menu for the night:
plant-based dishes crafted from locally sourced and upcycled ingredients (food that would have otherwise gone to waste)
a nourishing meal, great company, and thoughtful conversation prompts
a learning session with a local expert
a guided climate advocacy exercise that connects you with your local representatives
a community chat that helps you continue conversations with your new friends and take bite-sized actions together in the future
Theme: Water & Marine Ecosystems
Amid rising temperatures, dried-up rivers, and warming oceans—we turn our attention to the role of water in our food systems. From marine ecosystems and coastal farming, we’ll reflect on the role water plays in what we eat and who has access to it.
Hopemakers Grant: Tickets are free of charge!
We believe spaces like this should be accessible, not exclusive. Thanks to Jacob Simon and the Hopemakers Grant, all tickets for this dinner are free of charge! The intention is to call in students, artists, and organizers who are too often excluded from these rooms, despite being at the frontlines of food and climate injustice. There are 18 seats available, we ask that you sign up for a ticket only if you are sure you are able to attend.
Hopemakers is a new global membership community & media organization that imagines, supports, and builds a real-world solarpunk future, started by Jacob Simon. Jacob's goal is to use his platform to amplify unsung heroes that are improving their communities and feature their work in a video and use community-raised funding to elevate the project.
Location: 25 Broad Street, NY 10004
Date & time: Thursday, July 24th, 6-9pm. Dinner service will start at 6:30pm sharp, so please try to arrive on time
