New Members Welcome Circle
Note: we try to host these every week. The next one is Thursday April 17 at 7:00 pm ET. If you can’t make it, keep an eye out for the next one.
💜 Purpose
New here? We know it can sometimes feel tough to jump into a new space and start making connections. If you’re feeling a little nervous, unsure, or overwhelmed, you’re not alone. We’ve designed this intro session to help ease those feelings and help you make the most out of joining ND Connect because we genuinely care about this being a great place for you.
Our goal is to make it feel cozy, welcoming, and low-pressure – whether you're here to quietly observe, ask a bunch of questions, or start meeting other members. This is a chance to connect with the ND Connect team, get a feel for what’s available in the community, and begin building meaningful relationships with a few friendly faces.
What to Expect
A relaxed, 30 minute Zoom hangout.
Our team will introduce ourselves and give you a quick tour of what you can access inside the community
We’ll open space for any questions you have
We’ll do 3 quick rounds of low-pressure intros using some thoughtful prompts
The Prompts
Round 1:
👋 What’s your name? What pronouns would you like us to use for you in this space?
🤓 What’s something you're nerdy or passionate about
Round 2:
🔗How do you like to connect with people (e.g. deep convos, silly memes, quiet company, coworks, parallel play, messaging)?
Round 3:
🌱What’s one thing you’re hoping to gain from this space/community?
💜 What’s one thing you’re happy to offer others here?
Accessibility & norms:
Please show up in the way that best meets your needs - as a community, we’re here to support you, not judge. You're welcome to keep your camera off, participate in chat, stim, fidget, take breaks, use a heat pad, have a snack, leave and come back, just listen in – whatever works for you.
Feel free to include pronouns next to your name if you’d like so we know how to refer to you in this space.
Zoom access features like closed captioning will be enabled.
Please do your best to create a supportive space with us. All of our community guidelines apply here too.
Let us know if there’s anything we can do to make this a more supportive or helpful space for you by emailing us at support@ndconnect.app. We genuinely care 🫶
