Book Club: I Who Have Never Known Men
This August, we’re reading I Who Have Never Known Men by Jacqueline Harpman—a dystopian sci-fi novel set in a barren, post-apocalyptic world. The story follows a nameless woman held in a mysterious underground prison, and her search for meaning, memory, and self after society as we know it has collapsed.
We’ll gather at Frog Wine Bar in Bed-Stuy to reflect on the book’s themes—and why this haunting 1995 novel has so powerfully captured the current zeitgeist nearly 30 years later. (Seriously, BookTok can’t get enough. See The Cut's take here.) Bring your questions, your wonder, and your hot takes.
There will be wine, moody lighting, and beautiful company. As always, we’ll make space for thought, for feeling, and for each other!
Ticket price includes drinks and guided programming!
