Speakers:
Kwasi Ampofo is the Head of Metals and Mining at BloombergNEF based in London. His research covers industrial metals, rare-earth metals, battery metals and the pathways for miners to reach net-zero. Prior to BloombergNEF, he worked at Anglo American and Nous Group in Australia. He completed his PhD in Mineral Economics at the University of Queensland, Australia. He currently serves as a non-executive director on the board of Amira Global.
David Brulotte is Québec’s Delegate General in New York City. As Delegate General in Los Angeles and Tokyo, he managed Asia-Pacific and Middle East operations for Investissement Québec (IQ) from Japan and previously led business development in Europe. Earlier, he was a trade commissioner in London and worked on disarmament affairs for the UN in Nepal. Fluent in French, English, and Japanese, he holds degrees from Université Laval, the University of London, and Oxford. A triathlete and cultural philanthropist, Brulotte has received several distinctions, including the Université Laval Foundation’s Raymond Blais award and Rotary International’s Paul Harris Fellowship.
Chris Davy is the Acting Deputy Assistant Secretary for Energy Transformation in the Bureau of Energy Resources at the U.S. Department of State, where he leads U.S. efforts to strengthen energy security, promote energy decarbonization, and increase energy access. Previously, he was the Director of Energy Diplomacy for the Middle East, North Africa, and Asia. Chris has also previously served as Director for Policy Analysis and Public Diplomacy in the Bureau of Energy Resources, where he directed U.S. international energy policy analysis to respond to energy challenges from around the world that affected U.S. economic policy and national security. Mr. Davy served as the U.S. representative and board member to the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI) and as an alternate to the U.S. Department of State’s representative to the International Energy Agency (IEA). Mr. Davy is a member of the Senior Foreign Service and has served overseas in Colombia, Dominican Republic, Mexico, and Panama. Mr. Davy is a distinguished graduate of the National War College, and received an MBA from the Thunderbird School of Global Management and a BA from Lehigh University. Mr. Davy served as a U.S. Army officer and deployed in support of Operation Joint Endeavor in the Balkans and supported the NATO Operation Allied Force in Kosovo.
Tem Tumurbat is the Co-founder and Managing Partner of Nomadic Venture Partners. Prior to co-founding NVP, Tem was an investment professional at Resource Capital Funds (RCF), a mining focused private equity investment firm, managing early to late stage investments. As a mining engineer, Tem worked for Newmont Mining Corporation and AngloGold Ashanti. He served as board member and treasurer of the Colorado Chapter for the Society for Mining, Metallurgy and Exploration (SME). Tem received his B.S. in Mining Engineering from Colorado School of Mines.
Ryan Mathur is the Co-Founder and CTO of Vectores, an innovative exploration technology company leveraging hydrogeochemistry. He has 25+ years of experience working with a large variety of ore deposits globally with a focus on the geochronology of sulfide minerals (Re-Os and several other chronometers) and transition metals (Ti, Fe, Cu, Zn, Mo, Ag, and Cd) and metal (Sn) isotope geochemistry. He has published over 150 papers in peer-reviewed journals and worked with many mining industry, academic, and governmental agencies to solve mining issues worldwide. He has worked as the Geology Department Chair and Geology Professor at Juniata College. Dr. Mathur earned his B.A. in History and Geology from Juniata College and Ph.D. in economic geology and isotope geochemistry from the University of Arizona.
Mr. Greenhouse is the Vice President of Critical & Strategic Minerals at Agnico Eagle. Previous roles held include Vice President, Strategic Development (2022 - 2024), Vice President, Corporate Development & Business Strategy (2020 - 2022) and Vice President, Business Strategy (2018 - 2020). Prior to joining Agnico Eagle in 2013, Mr. Greenhouse was the CFO of a junior mining company and has worked in various roles at RBC Capital Markets’ fixed income and the currency trading floor. He holds a Master of Science degree in Accounting and Finance from the London School of Economics and Political Science, UK, and an Honours Bachelor of Commerce from McMaster University. He also holds designations as a Certified Management Accountant (CMA) (Institute of Management Accountants - USA) and Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) (CFA Institute).
Ned Bennett leads the mining and heavy industry vertical at Engine No. 1, a US-based asset manager focused on the energy transition. Ned has 15 years of experience with private and public equity investing in the metals and mining industry. Prior to Engine No. 1, Ned co-founded Pinnacle Iron and Steel Corporation (where he remains a director) which has acquired and is restarting a low carbon emission steel asset (DRI / EAF) in the Caribbean region. Previously, Ned worked at Orion Resource Partners, a mining-focused PE fund, in New York and Sydney for 7 years and at Composite Capital, an emerging market and natural resource focused PE fund, in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia for 3 years. Ned graduated with a BA in Economics from Princeton University.
