FuOSS Social 🍻
It turns out, one of the bottlenecks to making progress towards Nuclear Fusion is Python engineers (other programming languages are available).
FuOSS (Fusion Open Source Software), is a community for engineers contributing (or interested in contributing) to the Nuclear Fusion software ecosystem.
Join your fellow techno-optimists for drinks and pizza, learn about Fusion Software, and start contributing!
Speakers
James Dark - an intro to Fusion OSS and FESTIM
Jehan Azad - a Fusion Lab Tour

Fusion Lab Tour
We'll have a live remote tour of Marathon Fusion’s lab in the SoMa neighborhood of San Francisco. On the upper floor is office space with experiments and fabrication on the ground floor.
The main experiment consists of a test stand to simulate the environment near a fusion reactor. We use this to test our Metal Foil Pump which pumps Hydrogen while separating out Helium waste
Open Source
Open source is the de facto a way of making and distributing software in 2024. This is true for some fields more than others but the success of the first ones is many times related to the movement, eg. web, 3D printing, scientific computing, etc.
Fusion
Fusion energy is the holy grail of energy production: clean, abundant, safe. What if we combine the field of fusion energy with the open and highly collaborative methods of open source software making?
