About Event

In a lively illustrated presentation and clip show, curator and writer Michael Connor shares a love letter to digital art in 7 parts, telling the stories of key works and moments in digital art from the 1970s through the emergence of NFTs in 2014. The event is a concise and accessible journey through the surprisingly long history of artistic practices that have deeply shaped all aspects of human culture, and yet remain poorly understood. A must see for NFT enthusiasts, creative coders, social media denizens, and digiphiles of all kinds.

About Michael Connor
Michael Connor is co-Executive Director of Rhizome, a digital art organization that was founded in 1996 by artist Mark Tribe, and a curatorial advisor for Art Blocks and Kadist. At Rhizome, he initiated and co-curated the Net Art Anthology project, a book and exhibition which told a history of online art through 100 artworks. He also curates the 7x7 initiative, which pairs artists with technologists and gives them a simple prompt: to make something new.
