Museums and their Social Role with Adam Rozan
What is the social role of the museum in today’s society?
Adam Rozan has thought a lot about this question through, his leadership in the museum community, Adam is widely recognized as an audience-engagement innovator, a champion of change, and an advocate for visitors.
Adam will discuss the changes that are occurring in museums today and how the modern museum, that is, the museums we need now in our society, will better meet the needs of their staff, audiences, and the communities that they reside in.

Adam Reed Rozan was named a 2023 Blooloop Power 10 Museum Influencer in their annual Blooloop 50 Museum Influencer List. He the Director of Programs and Audience Development at the Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History, and is a founding member of the International Audience Engagement (IAE) network based in Melbourne and a member of The Comuseum International Advisory Board in Athens, Greece. Previously, he was director of audience engagement at the Worcester Art Museum in Massachusetts. He has also held many roles at museums, including the Oakland Museum of California, Harvard Art Museums, Boston Children’s Museum, and Boston’s Museum of Science.
