


Sculpt with Stone Clay (II) 女娲造物工作坊(2)
Description
This week, you will learn how to make 3D figures and sculptures out of stone clay. What you will get out of the class:
An overview of stone-based clay materials and their different properties
Learn to create armatures and inner structures
Practice making flat and 3D forms
Familiarize yourself with various sculpting tools and techniques
Experiment with mixed materials and creating surface textures
Learn to sand and refine details on dried stone clay sculptures
Explore different coloring materials, tools, and effects
Have fun painting the clay sculpture
Practice applying surface treatments and sealing the piece after drying
We will provide all the tools and materials for class use. You may take all the artwork you’ve produced with you!
Every “Repairing the Sky” Craft Workshop is composed of lectures on the history of the featured craft, an overview of basic techniques and tools, and guided practicing sessions. You can click on this link to learn more about the full semester class. Classes are beginner-friendly. Themes are interconnected yet self-contained. Students may enroll into one class, one series, or multiple classes/series at a time.
