Intro to Framer Workshop with Irem Ozekes and Raymond Xian
Framer is the most convenient no-code tool to design and launch your design portfolio these days. Period. 💅
It's like Figma and Webflow had a baby! You have the ease of using a design-first interface like Figma but also the ease of going live on the interwebz with your personal domain.
You don't need to worry about having to learn how to code, pay for a crappy template or ask a friend to build your design portfolio site anymore. We got you covered! 👩🏫
If you are new to Framer or no-code, this completely ✨FREE ✨workshop will cover everything you need to know about how to design your first Framer portfolio. We are going to:
- Explore the similarities between Figma and Framer
- Cover the basics of Web Development Principles
- Go over the Framer Interface
- Learn how to use the Figma to Framer plug-in
- Learn the best practices for how to use Framer
- Build an entire page together
- Optimize our design for tablet and mobile devices
- Learn how to customize a template
- AND MORE 🥳

Let's introduce your hosts:
Raymond Xian: I’m a Product Designer and a Community Leader leading events for Vancouver’s most-engaged design community. I have participated in multiple hackathons as both a judge and a mentor but not too long ago, I was just learning the ropes like you all.
With a deep passion for learning and teaching new things, Framer has been something I’ve picked up in the past year and I’m super excited to share my knowledge with you all! 😃 When I’m not frying my eyes to screens, you can catch me travelling around or criticizing underwhelming cappuccinos.
Irem Ozekes: I am a No-Code Web Designer and Developer with 5+ years of experience in designing and building websites for clients in Canada, Australia, and the US. Just like most of you, I have attended hackathons as a student / a new designer. These days, I am mainly mentoring at design hackathons and teaching workshops like these! Outside work staring at my laptop for 10 hours straight, you can find me trying the newest and trendiest matcha drinks or riding my unique e-bike (one and only in Canada).
Are we going to see you there? 😉 We hope so!
